Cancellation of events

Halfway through the Spring Battle Roads in April 2008, an individual sent a bomb threat letter to the Pokemon Company in Japan. As a result, for safety reasons, the Pokemon Company cancelled all remaining events. They would only resume events later in the year with the World Championship Representative tournaments.
